To improve drivers’ awareness of mental health and their ability to promote a healthy, tolerant working environment within the transport industry.

This essential module offers drivers a comprehensive understanding of mental health, including its definition, causes, symptoms, and the legal implications within the workplace. Through engaging discussions, experience sharing, and practical examples, drivers will explore the importance of mental wellbeing, methods for managing mental health challenges, and strategies to support themselves and their colleagues effectively.

 

Key Learning Outcomes

 

Raise awareness of what mental health is and why it matters in both personal and professional life.

Understand key statistics, common causes, symptoms, and the stigma often associated with mental health issues.

Recognise different types of mental health problems, including anxiety, stress, depression, and loneliness.

Learn practical strategies for managing mental health, such as setting goals, improving sleep habits, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise.

 Develop skills to recognise mental health problems in colleagues and provide appropriate support.
